The AOD Clinician Traineeship provides an exciting opportunity for people currently studying in AOD to gain practical hands-on experience across various AOD settings.The Traineeship is an opportunity for people early in their AOD career to work within the AOD sector and undertake four continuous 3-month placements with an allocated supervisor at each placement.There are four placements each at a different location. Each placement shall be approximately 13 weeks. The four sites are within our Drug Withdrawal House, Youth Hub and Adult Community Services teams.Development of screening, intake, assessment and case management skills and processes at each location across the traineeship.Gain valuable knowledge and expertise in care planning, service navigation and referral pathways across the AOD sector for people seeking supports.Recording of client information, case noting, report writing and professional written exchanges.Work within multidisciplinary teams with a positive view to learn and develop skills enhancing best practice approaches and interventions.Provide practical and emotional support to people accessing treatment services during admissions, discharges, place-based appointments and outreach appointments in conjunction with the Senior AOD Support Worker and/or Senior AOD Clinician.Provide assistance to clients, ensuring they feel heard and valued.Please note: Applicants must not have previous professional employment in the AOD sector to be eligible for this AOD Clinician Trainee position. This does not include volunteers or students who have completed student placements or have volunteer experience in AOD. What we're looking for: Enrolment in or recent completion of Certificate IV in AOD or Diploma in AOD.Experience in Hospitality, Retail or community services advantageous.Awareness or applied experience of therapeutic intervention types.Sound interpersonal and written skills. Ability to communicate effectively with people who are presenting in varying states of support need.Experience in co-facilitating group sessions.Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.Experience in working with clients with cognitive or physical disabilities.Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite.Join our team to contribute to our life-changing work.
