About the Role
This 12 month max term position is a managerial role within the Finance Operations team and is responsible for leading the Group’s Core Banking Finance reconciliations and will lead and contribute to the standardisation of Group processes to deliver contemporary and seamless reconciliations whilst ensuring compliance with financial obligations and controls.
You will be accountable for managing reconciliations across General Ledger and suspense accounts, Group payment clearing streams, BOQ branch operations and various workstreams across the Group’s multiple brands. Additionally, you will support the relevant business units in the management of aged exception items.
You will manage a team of c.13 Reconciliations officers across 2 locations (Brisbane and Melbourne) to deliver the business unit’s objectives.
As the Group continues its transformation journey you will provide subject matter expertise into the design and implementation of new reconciliations systems and processes and contribute, more holistically, into the wider ERP implementation.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
About you
We are seeking a Group Reconciliations Manager with strong leadership skills and highly experienced in reconciliations, including previou experience in a managerial role within a core banking reconciliations function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, demonstrating the ability to manage a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.
You will be adept at overseeing routine operations while effectively navigating change management processes. Experience with system implementation is highly preferred, as is familiarity with accounting packages and ERPs such as SAP, Workday, and Oracle, along with a medium proficiency in Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the role requires engaging with both internal and external stakeholders. The ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization is crucial. Additionally, you need to consistently meet deadlines and show a passion for continuous improvement, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency.
