As a Senior Quantitative Analyst, you will lead and influence the development of credit risk models, driving insights and strategic decisions at a senior level. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive years of experience in the field to make a significant impact on our credit risk strategy and operational activities.Role Location: Brisbane or SydneyWhat will your day look like?As a Senior Quantitative Analyst, you will:Build, validate, document, implement, and rebuild credit risk models (e.g., retail loan origination models, business banking customer rating models, loan behaviour scorecards), and methodologies for Collective Provision and Expected Loss, including key risk inputs such as Probability of Default, Loss Given Default, and Exposure at Default.Define key data requirements to support modelling approaches and engage with stakeholders (e.g., operational risk advisory, quantitative analysts, regulatory specialists) to ensure alignment with business needs and model development goals. Actively contribute to managing issues and driving solutions.Conduct detailed analysis with high accuracy, delivering results to senior management. Develop and improve model reporting, document technical aspects of models, and ensure the delivery of high-quality analytical papers to senior management and committees.Collaborate with the Credit Risk Modelling team, Model Development Leaders, and other departments to align on priorities, proactively engage stakeholders, and ensure models are embedded into operational activities. Assist in the development of junior team members.Identify inefficiencies and propose operational improvements. Contribute to strategic discussions with senior management, offering problem-solving and ideas that optimize outcomes, while ensuring clear communication between the modelling team and operational areas.What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Statistics/Mathematics, Actuarial Studies or Risk.A strong track record in quantitative risk, with a focus on credit risk modelling, and experience in managing complex credit-related challenges in lending and credit sectors.Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, Matlab, or similar tools with a solid foundation in statistical techniques and model validation.A demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Highly motivated and capable of independently managing projects, while working effectively across different management levels and multi-disciplinary teams.Proven experience in delivering high-level presentations and strategic reports to executive management, driving data-driven decisions at the highest levels of the organization.You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
