Description You pick the location and work flexibly with the support of our national team Transaction credit risk decisioning & structuring within Business & Wealth Regional & Agribusiness diversified segments in Australia How will I help? The Credit Manager role sits within the Regional & Agribusiness Credit team. In this role, you will act separately from relationship management activities and be accountable for transaction credit risk decisioning and structuring. You will have delegated credit approval authorities and be responsible for supporting or providing final credit approvals for credit exposures to a portfolio of customers in the Regional & Agribusiness segment in Australia. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Manager Commercial Credit, you play a key role to: Approve transactions that are within delegated authority and support transactions that exceed the delegated authority for approval at higher levels. Ensure that all credit decisions are soundly based, involve appropriate research / analysis, and reflect the organisation's credit underwriting standards, policies, and risk appetite, and meet local regulatory requirements. Maintain sound credit quality of your assigned portfolio through proactive monitoring and developing appropriate corrective strategies as and when appropriate. Provide advice to business and support partners via interpretation, guidance, practical application of risk policies and procedures at a transactional level as well as portfolio level, and independent market knowledge. Ensure adequate reporting and transparency to senior stakeholders so that they are aware of material and emerging risks impacting the portfolio, as well as significant transactions in pipeline and recent approvals. This role suits somebody who has: Significant banking/financial services experience across a broad range of disciplines with at least five years’ experience originating and/or approving credit transactions within Business and Agribusiness segments ($3M-$40M). A tertiary degree in business, finance, accounting, or agriculture. Strong business acumen with a commercial and relationship driven approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. A passion for supporting regionally based businesses, including primary producers. What’s it like to work in the team?
