Youth & Community Engagement Officer (Inclusive Pathways to Employment) Flexible role available to commence immediately in Morwell, Moe or Traralgon. Fixed term contract until June 2025. Workways Australia is a community not-for-profit organisation delivering employment, youth, and community services across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia. The Youth & Community Engagement Officer is a position that may suit but is not limited to retirees or individuals with a strong interest in committee work as this position is embedded in the community. This position is advertised as part-time but is also a flexible role that may be open to negotiation for the right candidate. About the Role The Youth & Community Engagement Officer (YCEO) will deliver the Inclusive Pathways to Employment (IPE) Pilot Program, supporting young people with disabilities to achieve their employment and education goals. Collaborating with the Youth Employment Coach (YEC) and external partners, the YCEO will promote inclusive employment practices within the community. This role involves building relationships with community service providers and schools to support the outcomes of the IPE pilot and the Transition to Work (TtW) program. Key Responsibilities: Work with schools and service providers to support students with disabilities in transitioning to employment. Engage with local NDIS and youth service providers to expand program caseloads. Organise and deliver employment pathways focused training to teachers and students within local schools. Collaborate with employers to develop inclusive roles and workplace environments. Follow the Inclusive Pathways to Employment Practice Guide and Advantaged Thinking approach. Network with stakeholders to support young people's career aspirations. Identify and facilitate training opportunities for students with disabilities. Maintain accurate records and data management. Contribute to meetings and reports on program progress. Promote the IPE pilot through community engagement and events. Key Selection Criteria: Understanding of youth unemployment and successful strategies for young people with disabilities. Experience in career planning and guidance leading to employment or education placements. Commitment to a human rights approach for young people with disabilities. Experience in outcomes-focused environments. Ability to professionally engage with education and disability service providers. Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with families, employers, and diverse communities. Willingness to participate in external evaluations and communities of practice. Qualifications and Experience (Preferred): Qualifications in Management, Employment Services, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience working with young people with disabilities. Proficiency in stakeholder management. Licences and Checks: Criminal History Check. Working with Children Check/NDIS Worker Screening Check. Right to Work in Australia.
