About The RoleWe are seeking an adaptive and experienced Senior WHS Manager to lead our Safety program for our high-performing processing and land-based operations, including a team of 5-6 safety personnel. Based in Hobart, you will promote and drive Tassal's Zero by Choice safety strategy across all processing, freshwater, and land-based operations. Collaborate with operational General Managers, Senior Managers, and sites to achieve safety goals and support the Head of Work, Health, Safety & Insurance Risk in developing top-tier safety systems and programs, ensuring the physical and psychological safety of all employees, as well as ensuring the PCBU achieves its safety objectives and legislative obligations.Key ResponsibilitiesThis is a pivotal role with the responsibility for continuous improvement and management of the organisations Safety systems (Policies, procedures and safety programs) and WHS project integration across all of the allocated operations.You will work closely with your WHS peers, as well as a wide range of corporate and operational stakeholders to:Oversee, manage and coordinate all aspects of our Safety systems, projects & programs (identified opportunities for improvement) to agreed parameters.Set deadlines and manage a number of Safety projects from conception to delivery. Projects will vary in size and scale.Champion selected Safety programs that integrate into and enhance Tassal’s overall safety strategy and the creation of both a physical and psychological safe workplace.Monitor and summarise progress of various Safety programs, projects and/or systems, including preparation of key reports for the Head of Safety as well as Manage the lifecycle of the project risk system meticulously.Drafting and contributing to various Safety briefs and papers to inform the Executive and Board of selected Safety topics.Whilst maintaining allocated division compliance with an internal scorecard to evaluate and measure compliance.Provide guidance and leadership to resolve non-compliance issues from audits and site visits.Conduct / facilitate insurance and property risk audits, tracking and driving completion of necessary actions.Offer technical and safety leadership for all projects within the processing and/or Land based operations.Build strong relationships with on-site stakeholders.Lead investigations within your division using ICAM methodology.Ensure accurate record-keeping and administration.About YouTo be successful in this role, you should ideally possess:Thorough understanding of WHS legislation, CoP’s, and relevant AS/NZS standards.Formal qualifications in WHS/OHS, Psychology, Human or Health Sciences, or Human Resources. (We won’t discount other qualifications if experience is relevant.)Experience in conducting and reviewing incident investigations, providing updates and recommendations. Knowledge of ICAM would be beneficial.Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to promote a safety as a core value.Meticulous record keeping and administration skills.Effective leadership skills in managing projects and people.
