Primary Location VIC - Melbourne - 655 Collins St Job Description Summary Service Stream are on the hunt for Trades Assistants to join our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Projects Team at our base site in Port Melbourne. About the Role We are hiring Trades Assistants to join our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Projects Team. We have key long-term projects for you to work on, including a renowned major transport infrastructure project. You will have a home base of our new site in Port Melbourne and will be offered on a permanent full-time basis. As a Trades Assistant, you will primarily assist trades with project works on electrical and mechanical systems, providing physical support, as well as spotting, deliveries, warehouse management, and operation of construction equipment. In this team you will work collaboratively, supporting each other’s disciplines to enhance efficiency, share expertise, and ensure seamless integration of maintenance and repair activities. Key responsibilities: Assisting in commissioning and de-commissioning of assets/plant/installations. Installation and augmentation of assets/plant/installations. Carrying out programmed maintenance and capital work. Maintaining open and proactive communications with client liaising with the client regarding operational activities. Completing all data requirements by client. Participating in after-hours support of maintenance activities, as required. From time to time assist with deliveries and procurement collections. Shadow tradespeople to gain insight and skillset advancement for personal growth and development. Participation in rostering which ensures efficient and continues operation of critical infrastructure. Fostering collaborative engagement with external trade stakeholders to ensure efficient performance of services and minor works projects. About You Our ideal candidates will have: Experience in similar role within the transport / electrical / infrastructure industry. Experience in similar role or as TA in projects or maintenance. JSEA and associated HSE documentation completions. Experience using Elevated Work Platforms. Experience driving tilt tray truck. Forklift accreditation or willingness to gain. Willingness to upskill and undertake additional training for ongoing development and potential trade skills knowledge advancement.
