This could be your next big adventure!ABOUT THE POSITION:The position is accountable for the design, manufacture, and finishing of high-quality biological models within specified parameters, time frames, and budgets.Some of the key duties include:Research, plan and create highly accurate biological models using innovative ideas and a broad range of products and materials.Participate in the planning and scheduling of individual modelling projects to meet the project timelines and the various demands on resources, equipment, and space in the department.Accurately record and document design and manufacture concepts to preparation team and stakeholders about model making projects being undertaken to ensure they meet appropriate standards and requirements.Support, assist and provide technical advice to preparation team with model finishing, painting and installation.Ensure all resins, plastics, solvents, paints and other mediums are used in a safe manner and contribute to risk and hazard management plans.The successful applicant will have:Broad experience in model making with the ability to produce innovative, creative, high-quality work such as biological models, museum exhibits, and props used in the theatre, advertising, and film industry.Demonstrated experience and knowledge in producing accurate models using specific reference information supplied, or from ideas, concepts, designs, and plans drawn up by others.Experience in the selection and use of specialised products and plastics used for model making, moulding and casting.Demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise in mould making and casting techniques using a broad range of materials.Experience in the use of a broad range of hand and electrical tools and equipment used in various disciplines.
