HumeLink West Project Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states.
HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140 kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Guga, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Safety Advisor for the HumeLink project.
This is a site-based position in Wagga Wagga, DIDO, FIFO or relocation options available for the position.
Key Accountabilities Experience providing advice and support to the team onsite.Implementation and compliance of the health and safety management plan.Conduct & lead investigations.Maintains and reports safety performance statistics.Reviewing project incident reports for investigation and recommended actions.Understand and stay current in leading HSE practices, legislation, regulations, and obligations and bring new and innovative ideas to UGL.Providing assistance to leadership and workers in risk identification and job hazard analysis.Monitor, review and mentor safety compliance through assurance activities, inspections and observations of the workplace.Qualifications And Experience Minimum 5+ years experience within a similar role in industrial/construction environment.Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent relevant qualification.Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9000, 14000, 45001 (desirable).ICAM Lead Investigator.Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).About You The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
