In the role of Plant Mechanic, the candidate will be responsible for:Performing preventative and scheduled maintenance on heavy earthmoving machinery (mandatory).Troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical issues to minimise downtime.Conducting component changeouts and rebuilds in both workshop and on-site settings.Fitting machinery to meet company standards.Ensuring safety compliance by following WHC procedures and PPE requirements.Collaborating effectively with the team, while also being able to work independently when necessary.As a Workshop Leading Hand, the successful candidate will:Lead and supervise workshop activities, ensuring timely and high-quality work delivery.Manage a growing team, providing mentorship and development support.Oversee the maintenance and repairs of heavy earthmoving machinery.Implement and monitor safety standards in the workshop.Assist the Workshop Supervisor with planning and scheduling.Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections to ensure proper functioning of equipment.Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety regulations.Manage resources and equipment to optimise workflow.Liaise with clients and other departments to meet project requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives in workshop processes.About You To qualify, you'll need substantial experience in a similar role, and expertise with Heavy Earthmoving Equipment is essential.
