Working with the Regional Logistics Manager Vic and Tasmania, the Driver Trainer/Assessor supports the Cement Supply Chain and Logistics department including planning and delivering training activities that promote Powder Tanker driver theoretical and applied driving and operational skills. The role will communicate directly with drivers, operational staff and management to determine training needs with the ultimate goal of developing and maintaining a skilled and competent workforce within the business. Supporting a team of 38 Drivers across 4 depots located in Somerton, North Shore, Dandenong and Deer Park, this role involves regular travel and working with drivers on the job. This role will suit an ex-Driver seeking a change and a new challenge.
Your day will involve:
1. Working with endorsed training materials, conducting certificate level on and off the job technical and knowledge based training and assessment to a standard acceptable by the Boral RTO and regulatory requirements
2. Recording training events and upload evidence to Boral’s Learning Management System
3. Referring to verification of evidence, develop, record in Learning Management System and issue Induction, Competency and VoC, wallet cards for workers
4. Facilitating and supporting line managers with training needs and the development of their people, communicating progress to relevant stakeholders
5. Completing administration functions in the sign up process for employees commencing a certificate level training program and completing all training and assessment documentation
6. In conjunction with Learners, reviewing the Trainer / Learner responsibilities throughout the training program and provide ongoing monitoring and feedback
7. Assisting in the development, review and updating of Training Materials, SOPs and SWMS
8. Recommending solutions to improve training and / or training materials when gaps are identified
What are we looking for?
9. Cert IV Trainer and Assessor (or the completion of the qualification as soon as possible if not already qualified)
10. Valid driver’s licence (HC minimum)
11. Ideally 3 years relevant industry experience in heavy vehicle training and assessing but not essential
12. Experience in the operation of a variety of heavy vehicles
13. In depth knowledge of Road Rules, heavy vehicle national law requirements for drivers and Chain of Responsibility
14. Intermediate computer skills
