ProTen is the leading broiler chicken farm developer and operator in Australia. As a Corporate Development Analyst, you will be responsible for driving business growth and improvement through financial analysis, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions.
Main Responsibilities:
Corporate Finance / FP&A
* Maintain and operate a fully integrated financial model to facilitate budgeting, forecasting, bi-annual valuation, and long-term strategic planning processes.
* Prepare periodic reporting requirements/obligations for external stakeholders including financiers, Board of Directors, valuers, insurers, and shareholders as required.
* Assist with financing, including equity and debt facility management obligations across the company.
* Assist with liquidity forecasting as required.
* Assist with hedging strategy and execution.
Strategy & Management Support
* Support annual insurance renewal process and manage underwriter relationships.
* Work under direction of the Chief Financial Officer and in alignment with the Executive Team to develop strategic priorities and establish actionable plans for the company.
* Work with complex datasets, including operational, financial, and third-party data to frame and analyse problems.
* Provide solutions or specific actions that can be taken based on the insights produced.
* Be involved in, and conduct scenario analysis and ROI assessments to support a range of management decisions.
* Support major capex projects across the portfolio via preparation of management reporting and framing of strategic decisions.
* Collaborate with all business functions and effectively communicate concepts clearly in oral and written forms.
* Engage professionally and transparently with investment partners and team members at all levels of the organization.
Mergers and Acquisitions
* Support the execution of the company's M&A strategy including target identification, due diligence, internal investment committee communications and approvals process, and ultimate closing coordination.
* Assist with presenting the investment case to support potential acquisitions and organic expansion (such as build projects), including transaction modelling and investment committee presentations and board papers for approval.
* Assist through the entire transaction lifecycle for an acquisition, from LOI signing, through due diligence, commercial negotiations, and definitive documentation.
* Manage transaction data rooms from inception through to closure.
* Maintain the global pipeline of actionable opportunities from both inbound enquiry and targeted outbound counterparty engagement activities.
* Contribute to planning for the onboarding and integration.
Skills & Experience & Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics or equivalent.
* 3+ years' experience in a similar environment in an analyst position within consulting, investment banking, Big Four accounting firm, or private equity with exposure to business financial analysis, research, reporting, and acquisitions/disposals.
* High proficiency in financial modelling and analysis including understanding a variety of business/revenue models and key financial statements (P&L, BS, and CFS).
* Strong understanding of Infrastructure fundamentals, with prior transaction experience.
* Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication, report writing, and negotiation skills, able to thoroughly communicate with executives and team members across various departments and justify complex financial transactions and organisational processes.
* Advanced ability to work with and transform complex data into compelling insights and visualised data.
* Ability to work under pressure and independently.
* Advanced expertise in the use of Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

* Experience in the Poultry Industry, the wider Agriculture/Agri-business sector, or infrastructure/project finance related sectors.
* CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification.
* Strong transaction documentation capability.
