A quarterly literary and current affairs journal, Griffith Review publishes new work, in print and online, by established and emerging writers and thinkers.Reporting to the Editor, the Editorial Assistant will assist the Griffith Review editorial team by providing administrative support for various editorial processes, copyediting and proofreading material for print and online publication, and preparing content for marketing and promotional activities.The position will also assist with Griffith Review’s organisational strategy and planning – this work may involve contributing to website and social media content development and to special projects.The Griffith Review team is a small one, so this role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the literary journal publishing process. If you love words and writing and enjoy taking a creative approach to your work, we want to hear from you!About YouThe successful candidate will have a degree in either writing, editing and publishing; journalism; professional communication; creative writing; a related field; or a minimum of two years’ relevant experience.The successful candidate will also have:Strong written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of accuracy when proofreading and editing contentKnowledge of editorial processes, including reviewing, fact-checking and ensuring quality controlExcellent organisational skills to handle administrative tasks related to editorial workAbility to work closely with editors, writers, designers and other stakeholders to deliver content on timeExperience in a print production, editorial, online, digital, design or publishing environment will be highly regarded.What We Can OfferThis is a fixed-term (two years), 40% part-time position primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane City (South Bank) Queensland College of Art. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.Salary RangeThe full-time equivalent base salary for a HEW Level 5 is in the range $77,761 - $87,235 per annum, plus 17% superannuation.
