Essential Requirements Relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in (forensic) mental health and/or health administration and significant experience as a leader in public sector mental health. Extensive experience and proven record of high achievement in improving mental health care and patient outcomes, including demonstrated experience in change management, strategic and operational planning, program coordination, and project management. Proven experience in (forensic) mental health research, data-driven service reform and demonstrable commitment to continuous service improvement, quality, and innovation The Role The Service Director of System Reforms works in partnership with the General Manager Forensic Mental Health and NSW Clinical Director Forensic Mental Health to implement system-wide policy and program reforms to 1) improve care pathways across the Forensic Mental Health Network and 2) strengthen program standards. The position will also be integral to seizing opportunities to improve early intervention and prevention programs in the Network. The position is responsible for supporting innovation and evidence-informed service delivery across Forensic Mental Health statewide. This will include supporting systems of centralised governance, reporting, monitoring and service evaluation. Supporting appropriate, least restrictive care to forensic, correctional, and at-risk civil patients, developing effective partnerships, especially with those who have lived experience, and benchmarking are also key priorities for this position. The Service Director of System Reforms will also be responsible for reporting per the NSW Ministry of Health's policy directive 2012_050, which identifies Justice Health NSW as the principal service provider and coordinating agency for Forensic Mental Health Services in NSW. In addition to this, the position will work closely with the General Manager Forensic Mental Health, Justice Health NSW Chief Executive’s office, and the Mental Health Branch to deliver statewide strategic objective and monitor commitments within Service Level Agreements between Justice Health NSW and Local Health Districts in relation to patients engaged with the Forensic Mental Health Network. Our Location and services The Justice Health Administration Centre (JHAC) is located at 1300 Anzac Parade, Malabar The JHAC is located immediately outside the Long Bay Correctional Complex, about 3km south of Maroubra on Anzac Parade and is next door to the main entrance of the Forensic Hospital. Entrance to JHAC is via the ramp to the left of the building. Visitor parking is available outside JHAC. There is also free, non-metered parking available on Anzac Parade and in the local area. The nearest railway station is Central Railway Station.
