Job Description
At Hands on People Pty Ltd, we are seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join our team. This position will be based in Brisbane and will play a crucial role in our finance department.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Aid the Manager-Corporate Services to monitor the financial performance of the organization to maintain a budgeted expenditure.
2. Verify and approve financial requests from other departments.
3. Comply with all the financial and legal requirements, responsibilities, and obligations of the organization.
4. Assist in the recruitment, training, and appraisal of finance team members.
5. Submit monthly financial reports to the Managing Director/Manager-Corporate Services.
6. Plan and manage individual activity plans and targets for all team members.
7. Process BAS, IAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax.
8. Setup centre pay deductions.
9. Maintain financial data using the Xero accounting system (Bank Reconciliation, Business, Accounting, Contacts, and Payroll).
10. Delegate authority and responsibility to team members with appropriate supervision, accountability, and review.
11. Maintain accurate financial records.
12. Claim NDIS invoices from the NDIA portal.
13. Generate and validate invoices before sending to concerned parties.
14. Control expenses to meet the approved budget.
15. Manage accounts receivables and payables.
16. Maintain regular interactions with all suppliers, clients, and customers of the organization.
17. Maintain all insurances like PIPL, vehicle, glass, workmen compensation, etc.
18. Handle special projects assigned from time to time that require your expertise.
19. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for review by senior management.
20. Analyze financial data to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
21. Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and monitor budget variances throughout the year.
22. Manage cash flow by overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions.
23. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends.

Desired Skills and Experience
Required:
1. Minimum 2 years of working experience in a team-leading role for finance.
2. Proven record in accounts/finance role with a strong emphasis on AP/AR tasks and managing multiple requests for support from the team.
3. Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, accounts payable, receivables, preparation of financial reports, and GST in relation to suppliers.
4. Demonstrated computer literacy (including advanced Excel), keyboarding skills (alpha and numeric), and proficiency in all modules of Xero.
5. Interpersonal and communication skills to provide high-quality internal and external customer service and work productively in a team environment.
6. Effective time management and organizational skills with a demonstrated initiative to problem-solve financial administrative matters.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
1. Relevant Accounts / Finance degree and experience in the field.
2. Current First Aid Certificate and CPR.
3. Valid OCHRE card.
4. Extended knowledge about the NDIS system and the industry.
5. Able to work in a team and be proactive in finding solutions to anticipated challenges.
6. CA/CPA/IPA Australia qualification with ongoing membership preferred.
