Your New Role As the defence Operations Manager for production, you will be the driving force behind the manufacturing operations. You will oversee the entire production process, manage a talented team, and ensure that operations align with the company's strategic goals. Your key responsibilities will include: Production Planning and Setup: Develop and implement robust production strategies, policies, and plans. Organise and oversee the operation and maintenance of manufacturing and installation activities. Operations Management: Directly manage the production and installation team, control the operation of production plants, and ensure compliance with schedules, costs, and quality requirements. Plant and Production Engineering: Establish standards for installation, modification, quality control, testing, and maintenance. Ensure optimum performance of plant facilities. Quality Control: Oversee quality assurance programs, ensure adherence to quality standards, and implement corrective actions when necessary. Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, implement lean manufacturing practices, and drive efficiency and productivity. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production metrics, employee performance, and prepare regular reports for management review. Workplace Health and Safety: Ensure personal and team safety, observe safe working practices, and proactively address safety issues. What You Need to Succeed To thrive in this role, you will need: Australian Citizenship is mandetory, with existing clearance highly regarded. A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in production management, preferably in the heavy machinery or defense sector. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
