About The Role
Our Lagoon Street site is situated in the Bega Valley Shire and is the original site of Bega Cheese. Located on the beautiful Sapphire coast, far south coast of NSW, Lagoon Street is still producing Australia's favourite cheese products – cheddar cheese, string cheese as well as butter.
We are looking for our next Production Supervisor to join the team at Bega Lagoon st! This role manages day to day activities in the retail production department and has a big focus on managing and leading the team to ensure targets are met. This supervisor will have up to 50 direct reports, so previous people leader experience is essential.
This role works 8-hour days on a rotating shift with a mix of morning and afternoon shifts. You will need be available between 6am and 10pm.
Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate all aspects of the manufacturing process and ensure a high level of coordination with other production areas where required.
* Develop and coach the team to obtain the best results from employees working the production lines.
* Utilise effective employee performance management to ensure compliance with policies and standards in areas such as punctuality, attendance, leave, safety, environmental and production performance
* Conduct daily work planning meetings/toolbox meetings
* Implement continuous proactive improvement initiatives to maximise process efficiency.
* Role model and instil Bega cheese values & behaviours
About you
* Previous experience in a people leadership role
* Experience in FMCG/food manufacturing or related industries is desired
* High level of business acumen
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* High-level process improvement skills and critical thinking ability
