About the Role:
Reporting to: Senior Trade Accountant
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Location: WFH + South Wharf
As Management Accountant, you'll prepare and analyze financial reports, contribute to annual budgets aligned with business plans, monitor trade performance, ensure compliance with accounting policies, and optimize trade cost standards through cost variance analysis.
The role and responsibilities will include:
1. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of periodical financial and management reporting for the trade (Includes Monthly trade results and financial forecast)
2. Participate in the development of annual budgets, which reflects business marketing plans and financial performance.
3. Monitor the trade performance against budget and forecast on a timely manner.
4. Participate in the preparation of annual accounts for the trades and ensure its compliance and also with the Group accounting policies.
5. Prepare and submit the reports/statements to various internal and external parties as per the requirements of the trade.
6. Liaise with key internal stakeholders to ensure that results reflect true and fair picture.
7. Liaise with Information Technology as to the trade requirements regarding reports, modifications and enhancement to the information systems.
8. Review actual cost against accruals regularly and analyze the variances in order to revise cost standards to minimize the variances for all types of Trade Cost.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
9. Degree in Commerce and Accounting, with preference for qualified or part-qualified CA/CPA
10. At least 4-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in management accounting
11. Knowledge of shipping industry/Oracle systems would be advantageous
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, SUMIF)
13. Ability to interpret financial statements with strong analytical and numerical skills
