This role is crucial in ensuring that the City's corporate reputation is optimised, fostering public trust and social license for innovation. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and overseeing a team of Research and Insights Analysts, you will bring the City's brand identity to life both internally and externally, guiding brand strategy development, and using data insights to shape decisions. You will also be instrumental in managing brand governance, measurement, and reporting. The Marketing Office plays a pivotal role in promoting and communicating the City's services and building its brand reputation, with a vision of becoming the highest-performing council in Australia. Work type:Classification: Senior Professional Level $144.000 pa plus super Key Position Responsibilities: Specialist Work Brand Strategy Development: Spearhead and implement a city-wide brand strategy aligned with the Council Plan and organisational strategy. Brand Transformation: Lead initiatives to reposition the brand, internally and externally, including engaging staff in the development of a new set of values. Brand Standards: Develop and oversee brand architecture, tone of voice, and visual identity across all platforms. Brand Governance: Ensure consistent application of brand guidelines and manage all brand approvals across the organisation. Market Research & Insights: Conduct and analyse market research to inform brand initiatives and generate actionable insights. Brand Measurement: Develop a framework to monitor brand health and regularly report on brand sentiment to executive leadership. Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data to shape strategies and measure the impact on ROI. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to integrate brand strategy organisation-wide. Change Management: Champion the brand during transformation, ensuring brand integrity is maintained and communicated. People Leadership Support the team in delivering strategic goals and ensuring operational success. Foster a culture of inclusivity, accountability, and customer focus. Mentor team members to build professional competence and enhance collective knowledge. Organising Resources & Planning Align activities with the department's business plans and strategy. Track and report on progress against plans and budgets. Implement systems and processes to achieve continuous improvement and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. About you Required: Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Strategy, Business Administration, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in brand management, with at least 3 years in a senior brand role. Proven experience leading brand efforts during transformational change. Experience conducting and applying consumer insights to strategic decisions. Desirable: Experience in a public service or agency environment. Experience in brand transformation or establishment of new brands. Skills and Knowledge: Expertise in brand strategy development and execution. Strong understanding of branding principles and a proven track record of managing brand evolution. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and senior management. Proficiency in data analytics to measure brand performance.
