The Opportunity:
KBR's growing Aerospace Team is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to assist our Canberra-based client. This is a key role supporting the Engineering function across multiple acquisition projects.
The Systems Engineer will provide leadership in the organisations Engineering/Technical team, who provide support to the technical fundamental input to acquisition projects.
The Systems Engineer will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult acquisition issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve critical project outcomes.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
1. Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or related Engineering discipline (essential).
2. Certified Practicing Engineers status (desirable).
3. Strong demonstrated experience and understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle, specifically, acquisition phase activities.
4. Strong demonstrated experience and understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and related engineering activities.
5. Demonstrated experience leading a team, allocating work, resources and tasks, setting work area priorities, developing strategies and evaluate business outcomes.
6. Demonstrated experience building and sustaining positive relationships with team members, actively participating in teamwork and motivating and mentoring developing engineers.
7. Demonstrated experience performing critical and complex engineering activities and providing advice in relation to complex acquisition activities.
8. Demonstrated experience being accountable for exercising assigned engineering authorities and delegations.
9. Demonstrated experience applying engineering knowledge to identify issues and uncertainties and take these into account in planning, decision making and priority setting.
10. Demonstrated experience evaluating that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, providing recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
This role requires immediate access to ITAR information and an NV1 security clearance.
Location: Canberra, ACT.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding an NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
