About the role
An IELTS/OET Invigilator is responsible for the delivery and the supervision of the Listening, Reading and Writing Subtests of the IELTS (International English Language Testing system) and OET (Occupational English Test), including verification of candidate Identification and operation of the IAM (Identity Authentication Management) system in strict accordance with all relevant IELTS and OET policies and procedures. An Invigilator may also be required to conduct invigilation for the IELTS/OET Speaking Test.
The Invigilator is expected to ensure that all test candidates have the opportunity to sit the test under optimal conditions and according to the specific testing regulations for each test whilst ensuring that all test materials are kept secure at all times.
Tests are normally taken on Thursdays or Saturdays and the Writing, Reading and Listening tests are all taken on the same day. The fourth component - Speaking tests - can take place on the same day or on a Monday or Tuesday.
We currently have a need increase the number of our test invigilators and are seeking applications from persons interested in test invigilation. The role of an invigilator is to assist in the delivery of the test and to ensure the integrity and security of testing procedures.
About You
The successful applicants will have a high level proficiency in English – Certificate III or higher, demonstrated ability in the operation of computer and audio systems with basic trouble shooting ability, have a high level communication and inter-personal skills including the ability to confidently and respectfully deal with various situations that may arise and able to work in a high pressure work environment.
Relevant experience working in a testing environment would be advantageous.
Note - All approved applicants will be required to attend a half day training program.
