The role is all about supporting a service that is now established and due to growth – looking for an Assistant Director to join the team and the experienced, supportive Director already in place. About the Role: Full-time role spread over 5 days, providing a structured schedule while offering flexibility for the right candidate to ensure work-life balance! A 9-day fortnight with regular RDOs. Lead in an off-the-floor capacity, while still having opportunities to connect with children and contribute to their learning journeys. Assist in guiding and supporting the team, with room to develop your own strengths, from mentoring staff to enhancing operations. While the Director focuses on establishing the service's vision and practices, you'll step in as the go-to person for all things admin, ensuring everything behind the scenes runs smoothly while providing hands on support to keep the team on track. Maintain and uphold the highest standards of compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), supporting the Director with driving quality in regulatory requirements, safety, and continuous quality improvement across the service. Work closely with the Director to implement high quality, child led programs, aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the NQF. Shape a thriving learning environment, encouraging play based learning and risky play to support holistic development. With individually designed rooms, the service prioritises small group experiences, allowing for individualised attention and meaningful connections among peers. The service has a culture of creativity and critical thinking through innovative programs, encouraging children to take risks and explore their interests in a supportive setting. Diverse experiences, with resident animals that are a part of the service family, to expansive outdoor play, promote physical, emotional, and social growth, helping each child thrive in their own unique way. Two large outdoor spaces dedicated to exploration, creativity, and nature play. Meals prepared by an on-site chef, tailored to each child's unique needs. A purpose-built, expansive yet close-knit service designed for creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning. The service currently caters to around 80 children, with thoughtfully designed rooms that support small group experiences and meaningful connections. Values community engagement, building strong, lasting relationships with local families. A nature-inspired environment, with a focus on risky play, exploration, and supporting children's growth and resilience. About You: Someone personable but strong in leadership - someone who can give clear direction, inspire the team, and step in when needed. You'll play a key role in supporting the Director and the team, while also sharing your unique expertise and insights. You're a supportive aspiring leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, bringing creativity and passion to everything you do. A deep understanding of the EYLF and NQF, with a drive to foster high quality education and care through reflective practice and continuous improvement. Experience in leadership within Early Childhood Education, and if you are ready to step into a service and role that lets you lead with purpose. A Diploma in Early Childhood Education is essential, with an ECT qualification highly valued.
