Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioner for the above position in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be located at Lithgow Hospital within the Department of General Practice Visiting Medical Officer with Obstetrics.
Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship by the beginning of the 2024 Clinical Year will be considered. If successful, the applicant will not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally obtained.
Successful applicants will be responsible for assessment, investigation and appropriate care of patients in Lithgow Hospital.
This position is Fee for Service and involves on call roster. SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Possess or be eligible for full registration with the Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP) and/ or Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
3. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring / audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
4. Sound clinical knowledge of General Practice with Obstetrics demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
5. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
6. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
7. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff.
