Our client, the Department of Housing and Public Works, is seeking a Manager of Employee Relations. This role is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Employee Relations practitioners in providing strategic and operational industrial and employee relations services. The successful candidate will have the chance to engage in high-level negotiations, manage complex enterprise bargaining agreements, and represent the department in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. You will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated professionals, guiding them towards delivering effective strategies that align with our organisational objectives. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating high-level negotiations with employee organisations, managing complex enterprise bargaining agreements, and representing our department at the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of delivering housing assistance, homelessness support services, local government support and advice, state and regional planning, public works building and design, and industry regulatory reform.Lead and manage a team in delivering effective industrial and employee relations strategy across the department.Coach, guide and mentor the team’s employee relations practitioners.Engage in high-level negotiations with employee organisations on specific industrial and employee relations matters.Work in partnership with People and Culture Business Partners to provide expert level advice.Lead and manage the negotiation of enterprise bargaining agreements.Represent the department and perform advocacy in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.What you bring:Proven ability to provide strategic and operational industrial and employee advice.Ability to work in partnership with business to implement solutions that support organisational outcomes.Experience leading complex enterprise bargaining negotiations with a solutions focus.Strong communication skills both written and oral.Confidence undertaking high-level negotiations within the department and across the public sector.Experience managing teams to achieve objectives while effectively managing risk.What sets this company apart:The Department of Housing and Public Works is committed to making a real difference in the lives of Queenslanders.
