The Opportunity
SEE Group have a great career opportunity available for a Contracts Administrator to join our highly professional and skilled Project team. This is a diverse and fast-paced role is a full-time and permanent role based on our project site in Cairns.
Responsibilities
• Prepare the identification, preparation, negotiation, issue, review, recommendation, and award, of subcontract/supplier contract packages with detailed input from the Project team to ensure that all packages are awarded on time, within budget and align with the project’s risk management principles.
• Control, manage and administer all subcontractor, supplier and consultancy variations and claims through to project close-out including ensuring bond/security requirements are complied with.
• Ensure the establishment and maintenance of a register of subcontract which identifies all key data in relation to each subcontract as well as registers for time/EOT/variation of both upstream and downstream contracts.
• Ensure Subcontractor payment claims are assessed and that payment certificates are processed and released within the specified timeframes.
• Ensure effective contract administration and management of both upstream and downstream contracts in conjunction with the Project team.
• Interpret and apply relevant legislation/code and contract requirements on the Project to prevent potential business exposure with the support of the Commercial and Legal Team.
• Assist with the identification and quantification of Head Contract scope changes and all subsequent negotiations with the Client.
• Assist the Project team with managing and issuing any notices, disputes or claims with subcontractors and/or the Client (including variations, notices of potential delays/claims/variations etc) with the support of the Commercial and Legal Team (where applicable).
Essential Skills and Attributes
• Sound understanding of various forms of upstream contracts, vendor and subcontract agreements.
• Awareness of the relationship between head contracts and subcontracts.
• Understands guarantees, warranties, insurances and bonds.
• Strong attention to detail and analytically minded.
• Drafting contracts to ensure these are legally binding for both parties.
• Sound negotiation, influencing abilities supported by intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve and provide pragmatic solutions.
• Exposure to similar role working across construction or commercial projects.
• Understanding and experience in application of procurement and contract management principles, concepts, practices, and standards are favourable.
• Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and SharePoint.
• Ability to manage and quantify large volumes of data with accuracy and attention to detail.
