ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance, reporting, and management of the organisation's finance function, ensuring effective and efficient recording of financial operations. This role will involve preparing financial analyses, supporting various teams, and contributing to month-end and year-end reporting processes. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and report on financial operations, including weekly and monthly analysis of revenue, service hours, and client numbers. Prepare and distribute monthly and weekly hour reports. Coordinate with external auditors and financial advisors as required. Prepare general journals and accruals, ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are supervised with appropriate documentation. Assist in month-end reporting to senior leadership, executives, and the Board. Formulate budgetary and accounting policies; conduct financial investigations and prepare reports as directed by the Finance Manager. Support year-end accounts preparation and ensure timely preparation of statutory accounts. Maintain accounting systems and purchase accounting systems; prepare FBT returns. Provide accurate financial reports to the Finance Manager. Offer on-the-job training to junior/accounting staff and lead internal training programs. Act as a subject matter expert on financial analysis and provide advisory support for the HCP program. Ensure accuracy in financial management processes. Work collaboratively with the funded programme team on government funding claims and reconciliations. Qualifications and experience: Tertiary education in Accounting or Commerce preferred. CPA or working towards. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar or related role. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving and risk minimisation. Excellent oral and written communication skills. High level of organisation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage finances with accuracy and comply with reporting requirements.
