Position Summary
This position is short term Parental leave cover contract
The Applications Analyst and Developer will provide primary technical assistance and maintenance for business-critical applications within the Oceania Region. In addition, assist in definition of requirements for enhancements, and management and/or development of these. Further, to promote the efficient use of all facilities of software product to maximize Business efficiency and use of systems.
Key Accountabilities
* Systems performance management – diagnosis of server issues impacting application performance (Windows and Linux).
* Application Server maintenance – system and archive log management, scripting, service management etc.
* Responsible for progressive Software / Application Upgrade or releases across multiple sites and/or environments
* Monitoring and managing the configuration of the production, test and DR environments and standardising where possible.
* Provide after hours remote and onsite support where required
* Managing TOS Applications Administration
* Develop, document and elaborate detailed designs and ensure that design includes internal and external SLA.
* Research, examine and select methods and procedures used for obtaining solutions and create technical information to design
* Escalation point of the maintenance, administration and support of critical systems/applications
* Building and managing all Applications Operating System and periodically upgrading or patching with latest version available.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in relevant IT disciplines
* 5+ years of IT industry experience
* Min 3+ years of Java and J2EE design & programming including web development experience
* Key skills required are JAVA, Web service, PL/SQL, JMS, XML, XSD, HTML, SOAP, CSS
* Desirable skills Oracle Service Bus (OSB), BPEL, SOA, Spring, Hibernate and REACT
* Application troubleshooting skills, such as use of command tools, shell scripting, able to read programming languages, installation of business-critical applications.
* Full software development life cycle and methodologies working on Tomcat, WebLogic or similar middleware server environment
* Working knowledge of security roles, issues and risks in a medium level enterprise
