The Co-Design and Engagement Division has various EL2 Director opportunities across multiple locations nationwide.These are important leadership positions delivering innovative and evidence based co-design and engagement strategies, plans, content and activities to ensure that people with disability are at the heart of making improvements to the NDIS.As part of the EL2 Director Co-Design and Engagement application process, candidates will be asked to select their preferred Branch as outlined below.The Engagement and Inclusion Branch is responsible for community engagement, the relationship with national disability sector organisations, Agency initiated strategic advisory groups and inclusion strategies.
The Branch provides secretariat support to the Independent Advisory Council.
Teams work to ensure community, sector and participants are able to navigate changes to the NDIS and engage with the Agency to inform reforms to the NDIS.The Co-Design Branch is responsible for leading and supporting co-design and engagement on significant policy reforms and priorities for the Agency in line with the Government and Disability Sector's joint statement on co-design.
The Branch also has a key role in building the capability required to successfully co-design NDIS policy outcomes with participants, the community and disability sector, through the development of resources, methods, advice and training.Where you can add valueAs Director Co-Design and Engagement, you will be responsible for initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Leading a team delivering timely, innovative, efficient and evidence based co-design and engagement strategies, plans, content and activities.Driving the development, implementation and monitoring of targeted engagement strategies that align to the NDIA's Engagement Framework, NDIA Corporate Plan, branch and divisional business plans.Providing strategic advice to business areas on best practice engagement for co-design, consultation and information sharing.Providing capability building coaching across the broader team and to other business areas on engagement and co-design approaches and associated tools and resources.Designing, implementing and monitoring the delivery of Scheme wide inclusion strategies to improve outcomes for participants from diverse communities.
Including implementation of the NDIS CALD Strategy, refresh and launch of the new LGBTIQASB+ Strategy and development of the first Gender Equity Strategy and Intersectionality Framework.Enough about us, let's talk about youThe successful candidates will have:Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to represent the NDIA, communicate with influence, including facilitate stakeholder engagements, and develop and maintain networks with a wide variety of stakeholders, including people with disability, their families and carers.A track record of delivering evidence based co-design and engagement outcomes, ideally in the human services sphere and an understanding of the government context.Be comfortable working with ambiguity, navigating multi-dimensional and complex issues and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities to deliver against tight timeframes.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to provide strategic advice to Senior Executives and business areas on best practice engagement for co-design, consultation and information sharing.An ability to quickly understand a wide range of reform priorities, and be able to consult and engage in accessible and inclusive ways to gather feedback and advice from diverse audiences.Demonstrated leadership experience and an innovative approach to inspiring team members to deliver against agreed priorities and strive to continually improve.In line with the values and mission of the NDIA, you will have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability, along with understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals.
