Fixed Term Full-Time Salary Classification: Med Physics Registrar Acc Yr 1-5.
Remuneration: $40.49-$57.67 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's THE ROLE:
Calvary Mater Newcastle's Department of Radiation Oncology is NSW's largest regional specialist radiation therapy centre.
It offers world-class radiation therapy using precision technology to deliver the best available treatment to patients.
The department has five TrueBeam linear accelerators, a dedicated CT, MRI, kV and brachytherapy units.
The department has a strong track record of innovative development and research from the clinical medical physics team.
This includes both technology-based research and clinical trials (with TROG co-located on site).
The Medical Registrar will join a team of 10 medical physicists, 1.5 physics assistants, a dedicated research physicist, MRI physicist, and software developer.
You will undergo training to gain qualification as a radiation oncology medical physics (ROMP) specialist and enrol on the ACSPEM radiation oncology TEAP certification program.
DUTIES:
Training to gain qualification as a radiation oncology medical physics (ROMP) specialist including enrolment and progression through the ACSPEM radiation oncology TEAP certification program.
Participate in the routine activities of the department under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor or other staff.
Participate in the department's research and education activities.
ABOUT YOU:
Eligible to enrol in ACPSEM radiation oncology medical physics TEAP and obtain a license to use radiation apparatus and sources from the NSW EPA.
Demonstrated ability to apply the scientific method and perform scientific and/or research projects to a very high standard.
Postgraduate qualifications in Medical Physics or near completion.
Demonstrated commitment to pursue a career as a medical physicist and to own personal and professional development.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
