ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Risk, Assurance and Insurance is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and governance of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework. The role advises the executive team and the Board and Audit and Risk Committee, promoting a strong risk culture, and leading the integration of risk into the organisation’s strategic decision-making. As part of the assurance and risk plan, the role leads the internal audit and insurance programs. Your key responsibilities will be: Design and implement a leading practice ERM framework and its continued development and governance. Advise the executive team and the Audit and Risk Committee Provide strategic risk advisory services to support executive and board objectives. Oversee the selection and management of the company’s insurance advisors. Provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services to improve operations. Realign the internal audit function to be part of the risk management strategy. Provide advice to business functions on their business continuity plans. Ideally you will have: Tertiary Qualifications in business management, planning, engineering or other related profession Significant experience (10+ years) in corporate risk management, including exposure to insurance management, business continuity, crisis management and emergency management Knowledge of AS/NZS ISO 31000, risk management and business continuity theory and practice and its application to commercial businesses Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and motivational skills Proven ability to advise, liaise and negotiate with senior executives, directors and external stakeholders Highly developed written and oral communication skills Ability to develop business systems, processes and policies to meet organisational needs Ability to lead and work in a team environment to ensure delivery of significant planning projects, Ability to articulate and present initiatives at a senior level including that Executive Leadership Team and Board We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and fosters equity.
