About the opportunity
Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Science Engineering is seeking a Director Academic Accreditation Veterinary Science. The Director Academic Accreditation is a key position and will assist in establishing the new Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Veterinary Technology. You will support students in their training, skills, and knowledge development necessary for veterinary practice. You will lead compliance with standards set by professional accrediting bodies.
Your core responsibilities will include:
* Providing strategic academic leadership for the Veterinary accreditation processes to ensure compliance with professional standards and SCU requirements while adhering to rigorous timelines.
* Ensuring curriculum and assessments are innovative, current, and compliant with accreditation standards across course design and development, and teaching and learning activities.
* Overseeing outcomes assessment, including data evaluation on graduate outcomes and curricular quality assurance.
* Enhancing student experiences through retention strategies, support systems, and effectively addressing student concerns.
About you
You will be passionate about student teaching and supporting student learning and have a keen interest in health research. More specifically, you will have:
* Completed tertiary studies in Veterinary Science, Doctorate or Bachelor Degree, and clinical experience in veterinary practice. Additionally, current registration or eligibility for registration as a veterinarian in Australia.
* A successful record of managing veterinary accreditation processes in Australia.
* Substantial experience and expertise in teaching within a Veterinary Science or Veterinary Medicine Course, with the ability to engage a network of animal or veterinary science industry and professional contacts in teaching and research activities.
* Experience in designing curriculum and innovative learning experiences, and/or a post-graduate qualification in tertiary education.
* Evidence of a relevant national research reputation as evidenced by publications, success in competitive grants, and/or consultancy contracts.
Salary and benefits

* Full-time, continuing (permanent)
* Located at Lismore, NSW 480. Generous relocation support available.
* Academic Level D. The base salary ranges from $161,784 - $177,948 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $208,199.
