To support this vision, the Defence Enterprise Systems Division is seeking highly skilled agile and waterfall qualified project management professionals with whole of government, enterprise level, infrastructure and application delivery experience, to drive delivery outcomes in line with the National Defence Strategy.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our TeamWorking in the Defence Digital Group (DDG), you will be contributing your expertise to some of the most technically demanding and complex ICT transformation projects being undertaken in Australia. DDG is transforming Defence’s ICT capabilities.

You will also have:
Superior knowledge and experience in digital platforms and technology delivery or enhancements;
Extensive experience providing high level advice to senior leaders;
The proven ability to lead and implement growth in diverse teams;
Proven exceptional organisational skills, specifically the ability to oversee either programs or multiple projects; and
Prioritise commitments and meet critical deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Additional professionalisation, training and development will be offered to successful candidates.
Duties of the APS 6 position include:
Manage a range of project activities and coordinate project inputs in accordance with organisational practices, methods and standards appropriate to the complexity of the project;
Responsible for the management of schedule, risk, budget and resources, preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and returns relating to the project progress, and issues in accordance with organisational requirements;
Identify risks and opportunities and take account of these in planning, decision making and priority setting;
Build and sustain stakeholder engagement including the ability to communicate with influence and negotiate effectively;
Work collaboratively by building effective relationships with team members and actively participating in-group activities; and
Analyse project performance against agreed plans, develop and initiate strategies to achieve project outcomes.
