Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Logistics and Transporation Manager to join their team inAlice Springs, NT - Australia.

THE ROLE
The Position
The Deputy Logistics and Transportation Manager will support the Department Manager in overseeing all logistics activities and transportation operations. This role will focus on ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the supply chain by supporting the development and execution of logistics strategies, managing day-to-day transportation activities, and ensuring compliance with industry & facility regulations. The Deputy Manager will also work closely with cross-functional teams and help identify areas for improvement, all while promoting cost-effective solutions and high service standards.
The Deputy Logistics and Transport manager will be required to liaise with a range of stakeholders, including US Government employees, OASIS employees and vendors on daily basis through the course of their duties.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Oversight of assets, material, and property control activities to ensure continuous accountability of government and company property in accordance with governing regulations and policies.
* Maintain 100% accountability over inventories of all program assets.
* Manage personnel government material, assets, and property control and ensure consumable supplies are maintained to provide constant support to the program.
* Management of maintain control of government-accountable property records and constantly monitor consumable supply usage rates and reorder trigger points.
* Management of monitoring purchasing, inventory control system and property records to ensure they accurately reflect inventory transactions, movement and relief of stewardship.
* Plan and conduct internal audits and support external corporate or Government accountable property audits.
* Participate in risk assessments and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
* Prepare reports for Division management and Government customers.
* Use varied approaches to resolve or collaborate on project or program issues.
* Support the program with shipping items from OCONUS to CONUS and between OCONUS locations. Receive, catalogue and inventory items from vendors, customers, additional contractors, etc.
* Author, manage, maintain, and update the applicable policies, support documents and work instructions for those activities associated with the warehousing requirements. Collaborate, provide feedback and updates to the Logistics Manager to ensure all processes are correctly documented and maintained.
* Support office moves, logistics and other duties as required to support Customer Mission requirements.
* Ensure compliance is held by the department with the statement of work and facility warehousing manuals.
* Foster a strong culture around safety including the reporting of hazards and incidents, pe-starts and safe operating procedures are followed.
* Any other reasonable duties as required.
Qualifications: Minimum Essential
* 10 years' experience in supply chain management leadership positions
* Computer software and application knowledge
* Working with minimal supervision and experience working as part of a dedicated team
* Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
* Administrative skills
Qualifications: Desirable
* Vocational training and qualifications in Logistics related fields
* Materials handling training
* Leadership and management focused degree
Experience: Minimum Essential
* 10 years’ supply chain management leadership experience
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with varied stakeholders
* Experience with MS Officer operating system
Tickets ad Licenses: Minimum Essential
* Driver License
Tickets ad Licenses: Desirable
* Forklift License
* MR truck license or the ability to obtain if required
* Dangerous goods person license
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS
* Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
* The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand.
