Position Information Macintyre High School is a progressive school of 537 students located in Inverell. The student population includes 22% Aboriginal students. Our school has an excellent reputation in the local community for the success of our students, our extensive wellbeing support, the commitment of staff, strong leadership development initiatives and the wide variety of interests which are catered for through the school's diverse curriculum. A learning centre operates to provide targeted support to a wide range of students and we host three multi–categorical (MC) classes as well as managing the Inverell Tutorial Centre. Macintyre operates an extensive vocational education and training program, including school based apprenticeships and traineeships, in conjunction with TAFE, local industry partners and other providers. Our school has established trade training centre facilities for hospitality, metal fabrication & engineering and primary industries. In all, our students have access on-site to six nationally accredited Industry Curriculum Frameworks. Selection Criteria Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, - Demonstrated capacity to lead the development of innovative and high quality teaching and learning programs, assessment and learning experiences that engage and support students with diverse ability levels and learning needs. - Demonstrated capacity to be a collaborative and proactive school leader in the implementation of key initiatives that support the attainment of the school's strategic directions. - Proven ability to provide visible educational leadership for staff with diverse teaching experience to develop teacher capacity and create a culture of high expectations. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
