The Role
The Air Lift Systems Program Office (ALSPO) has an opportunity for a motivated professional to join our C-130J Future Force Transition Team which focuses on the strategic planning requirements for the sustainment of the new C-130J Hercules fleet of aircraft.
Under the broad direction of the Future Force Transition Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking product, project, disposal, budget and commercial activities in a complex Defence sustainment environment and in accordance with Commonwealth legislative and policy requirements. The position is also required to influence infrastructure requirements and transition opportunities.
By the application of program management expertise, the successful applicant will be required to:
* Sustain the continuous delivery of very high quality project outcomes;
* Ensure approvals and stakeholder input are obtained in a timely manner;
* Produce high quality reporting and communications;
* Work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve sustainment capability outcomes, through both the implementation of effective contracting arrangements and the ongoing management of these arrangements.
About our Team
The Air Lift Systems Program Office (ALSPO) is a business unit within the Airlift and Tanker Systems (ATS) branch of the Aerospace Systems Division (ASD) within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). ALSPO is the in-service support agency responsible for sustaining and enhancing the RAAF’s C-130J Hercules and C-27J Spartan aircraft. ALSPO, in partnership with industry, exists to support Air Mobility Group achieve its mission by providing effective sustainment support solutions.
The C-130J Hercules Asset Management Unit (HAMU) within ALSPO is a highly capable and professional team operating in a dynamic work environment supporting the C-130J Hercules fleet. HAMU is an integrated workforce consisting of Australian Defence members, Australian Public Service and contractors. Given the integrated nature of our business, building and maintaining cooperative and collaborative relationships are fundamental to our success.
The team is located proudly in Greater Western Sydney at RAAF Base Richmond, an hour west of Sydney and at the foot of the beautiful Blue Mountains. The Base has a full size gymnasium, tennis court, swimming pool and cinema, which is accessible to all while working at RAAF Base Richmond.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual with demonstrated program and/or project management skills, along with an ability to understand and apply relevant legislation and policy. Knowledge of Defence and/or aviation sustainment and maintenance is preferred.
