The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity that doesn’t come up very often, the role would be suitable for a head chef looking for the next step up in their career, and wanting to take on a larger team and venue. The restaurant has a lot to offer with multiple kitchen outlets; including a pizza and sashimi section, with a contemporary dining experience that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner to the diverse Coogee crowd. Coogee Pav has a generous dining space and can do a high volume of covers, especially when the weather is favouring a day out at the beach, with locals and tourists coming into the venue for a drink and a bite to eat.
We are looking for a head chef who is ready to take on their next challenge in a larger venue, has the ambition to drive the food offering forward and the management skills to motivate and guide their team to success. You will have full accountability for the kitchen financials, developing and building your kitchen team, and keeping the product consistent. You will be working collaboratively with the exec chef who oversees multiple venues in the Merivale group, working on menu creation and development.
Having high-volume service experience is a must, the ability to manage a team of 20+ chefs and will need a good understanding of the kitchen admin and financials. You will have the ability to work in a changing environment and lead by example, with strong communication skills.
