The Role
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, this position is responsible for coordinating and implementing the fundraising strategy for One Foot Forward and delivering the campaign on time and within budget.
This is a project management role, responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders. The position works closely with the Senior Manager, National Campaigns and Community Fundraising and Head of Fundraising and Supporter Engagement and their teams in campaign delivery. This role supports the strategic growth of unrestricted income and is responsible for delivery of significant fundraising targets and revenue objectives for the One Foot Forward.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic
• Develop and implement new systems and processes to ensure best practice execution of One Foot Forward.
• Identify and develop strategic opportunities to expand BDI fundraising campaigns and events to build BDI’s supporter base nationally.
• Contribute actively to F&P’s broader operational and strategic planning processes.
• Lead the development of strategy for One Foot Forward.
Project Management
• Plan, manage and oversee the strategic execution of the annual One Foot Forward campaign.
• Working with Senior Manager, National Campaigns and Community Fundraising and Senior Manger, Partnerships and other members of the Funding and Partnerships team, develop and implement campaign planning including project plans, recruitment plan for attracting participants, fundraising and stewardship plans and donor journeys.
• Coordinate and manage the internal campaign working group and develop clear delineation of roles.
• Develop and oversee the execution of the multichannel marketing and communications plan for the campaign including direct marketing, and digital activities.
• Develop and oversee implementation of supporter FAQs and supporter journeys.
• Work with the Marketing and Communications team to coordinate media releases and identify potential media opportunities.
• Manage plans and activities for direct communications to existing supporters and new prospects to increase One Foot Forward registrations, fundraising and retention (including email marketing)
• Regularly report to Senior Manager, National Campaigns and Community Fundraising on campaign progress, including risk assessment and mitigation.
• Adopt a collaborative project management approach to proactively lead and work with all stakeholders responsible for delivering elements of the campaign to ensure program KPIs are met.
• Work with key stakeholders to develop and oversee implementation of operational plans for supporter management, relationship management and supporter communications associated with the campaign.
• Lead in the collation and tracking of campaign budgets and schedules and work with the Senior Manager, Fundraising on refinement of budget and schedule as needed.
• Work with Supporter Engagement Team to coordinate content development and scheduling of updates for One Foot Forward website, social media and peer to peer platform.
• Work with Marketing and Communications directorate to ensure campaign is on-brand and aligned with broader Black Dog Institute messaging.
• Liaise with Fundraising and Database Insights Team to ensure successful campaign delivery based on data driven decisions, segmentation and targeting.
• Work with Mullets For Mental Health Campaign Manager to assist in their campaign as needed.
Agency and External Supplier Management
• Manage external suppliers including our digital agency, merchandising supplier and others to implement successful supporter communications for the life of the campaign, including pre and post campaign.
• Meet weekly with the digital agency to ensure achievement of campaign deliverables within schedule and budget.
• Manage relationships with merchandise provider, for distribution of campaign incentives and ecommerce.
Post Campaign Period
• Develop and implement post-campaign survey of participants
• Working with the Data Insights team, undertake post campaign analysis, including outcomes against campaign targets, demographic and behavioural insights and key learnings.
• Convene post-campaign debriefing sessions involving internal and external stakeholders.
• Undertake other post-campaign activities as required.
Skills & Experience Required
1. 3-5 years’ experience in executing marketing or fundraising campaigns, ideally in a not for profit organisation.
2. Successful track record in building and implementing large national campaigns, preferably with a revenue growth focus.
3. Strong project management skills.
4. Able to think and lead strategically, managing workflow, expectations and deliverables with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
5. Demonstrated experience in working to strict timelines and project plans, including budget management.
6. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, while achieving strong financial outcomes.
7. Natural relationship builder with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Demonstrated experience in digital marketing and/or fundraising to achieve campaign outcomes.
9. High proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
10. High degree of understanding in marketing automation principles and their use in supporting large scale campaigns.
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience with peer to peer platform Funraisin.
2. Previous experience with merchandise providers in delivering campaign incentive strategy.
3. Experience with establishing Zendesk support
