About the Role * Classification: Locally Engaged Staff (LES) * Salary Range: Commensurate with experience * Work Location: Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) office, Hong Kong * Employment Type: Fixed term – 1 year An opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional with a strong focus on delivering programs to support exports, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment as it relates to China and Victoria, Australia, to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network.
Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner for Victoria to Greater China, this position will engage in a range of trade outreach, network connection and promotion activities and projects and play a key role in researching and identifying goods and services trade opportunities for Victoria across Hong Kong and Taiwan.
In addition, the role will require identification and facilitation of foreign direct investment opportunities for Victoria in the region.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills to develop strong relationships with a range of stakeholders across industries, while being proactive, creative, and solutions orientated to launch and deliver initiatives to achieve trade outcomes.
Successful Candidate The successful candidate will possess: * Proven ability to lead business development initiatives, particularly in market entry within the food and beverage, FMCG industries, professional services, retail, life sciences, and technology sectors.
* Ability to provide continuous updated knowledge of international business environment, trade, sectoral, regulatory and policy trends in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to expand and build high level networks in key trade sectors with Hong Kong and Taiwan based partners.
The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all arrangements in relation to relocation expenses (if applicable), their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
