You’ll be working with Australia’s largest retail operations - both online and in-store, along with pushing the innovation boundaries with marketplaces and the subscription and gig economy businesses.
What you’ll do
Wpay are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer to take the lead for the operations squad within Wpay. The role primarily focuses on supporting Wpay Digital payments, Online Applications like Everyday Pay, Gift Card Application and services, WPAY APIs, Micro services involved in providing WPAY payments and services.
This role is for a Senior Operations Engineer who will work across multiple technology stacks to take the lead on complex and high priority issues. You will be responsible to reach out to various teams across the group for the purpose of incident resolution. You will review and analyse the logs performing trend analysis and instigating solutions between the responsible teams, guiding and leading discussions.
You will be the first point of contact for escalations and priority requests keeping senior stakeholders up to date and following up until resolution.
4. Investigating and resolving incidents assigned to the team
5. Work with the team and Operations Manager to meet SLAs and ticket resolution following ITIL principles
6. Resolve high priority and impacting incidents within SLA’s including after hours if the needs arise
7. Work collaboratively with Product Owners, BAs, Situation Management and Engineering squads
8. Stakeholder management resolving incidents and conflicts
9. Support after hours escalations and high priority incidents in Sitman incidents
10. Investigate trending Incidents and organise dev teams to focus on urgent issues as they occur
What you’ll bring
11. Demonstrable Operations Experience in medium to large enterprises
12. Prior experience in deep diving into issues across a wide range of technologies
13. Understanding the usage of key logging tools and dashboard creation - Splunk, Dynatrace
14. Experience with Akamai, DNS, Firewalls, load balancers and networking technologies
15. Ability to stay calm in high pressure circumstances and work through problems methodically.
16. Strong experience with Apigee or similar API gateways
17. Solid experience with cloud technologies (Azure, Kubernetes, GCP etc)
18. Experience with REST APIs / Microservices
19. Strong documentation, process skills, handover, mentoring
20. Great solution communication skills
