Navy Doctors (known in the Navy as Medical Officers), are crucial to keeping Navy personnel healthy.
In this role you'll administer medical services using the Navy's modern, fully equipped medical facilities either ashore or onboard ships.
You'll be fully supported by skilled Nursing, Administrative and Allied Health personnel to provide a high standard of care in any situation.
When you are posted to a ship, you will lead a tight-knit team looking after the health and wellness of your team and crew.
Another rewarding part of the role is providing humanitarian relief and participating in defence operations both nationally and internationally in joint environments alongside the Army and Air Force.
The Navy will support you in specialising in specific areas of medicine such as Primary Health Care, Occupational Medicine, Public Heath Medicine or Medical Administration with the opportunity to expand into health leadership and management.
Experienced Doctors within Navy are also eligible to apply for the following study streams to further their specialisation: Orthopaedics and General Surgery (Trauma) Emergency Medicine Intensive Care medicine Anaesthetics As a Navy Officer, you'll lead and look after the people in your team.
This involves offering leadership, management, administration and career advice to junior officers and sailors within your team.
You'll play an important role in supporting people – a key Navy focus.

The Navy may offer Doctors higher salaries depending on experience and postgraduate qualifications held.
