About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and competitive Production Assistant with a “can-do” attitude to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the production process, working closely with suppliers, aiding in procurement, and ensuring the timely delivery of orders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the production process, adhering to schedules and timelines.
* Support the development, sampling, and production for major accounts.
* Collaborate with the warehouse supervisor and production staff to streamline production.
* Facilitate cost-effective and timely local and offshore production processes.
* Coordinate local production processes and manage offshore production orders.
* Liaise with freight forwarders and handle fabric and accessory orders.
* Raise and send purchase orders, and communicate with customers and suppliers regarding order issues and confirmations.
* Monitor and report on supplier performance and stock levels.
* Request pricing and availability information from new and existing suppliers.
* Maintain master data and purchasing information records.
* Review requisitions for indent products and advise on production planning issues.
* Expedite local and international purchase orders, maintaining accurate shipping dates.
* Coordinate with various stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, customers, and sales representatives.
* Assist in new product development initiatives.
* Manage invoices related to production and development, ensuring they are correctly coded and forwarded to the accounts department.
* Read and collate information from new tenders and customer briefs.
* Support national warehouses and sales managers with various tasks, including weekly, monthly, and yearly reports, and stock takes.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards by liaising with certifiers, factory auditors, and unions.
* Perform ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
* Fluency in Mandarin.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role (production, quality control, garment technician).
* Basic understanding of import-export logistics processes.
* Knowledge of garment construction, with fashion/textile certification preferred.
* Experience in supplier management and procurement.
* Strong organizational, interpersonal, and prioritization skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
* Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
