You will work collaboratively with colleagues and drive front-line leadership in order to enable the safe, reliable and cost-effective delivery of train services to our customers. Quirindi is southwest of Tamworth on the fertile Liverpool Plains, one of Australia's richest agricultural regions. Quirindi is located 345 km north of Sydney via the Newcastle Freeway and the New England Highway. It is 83km south of Gunnedah on the Kamilaroi Highway. If you are looking for a tree change Quirindi may be a good spot!About the role:Lead a team of train crew & operational staffSetting and monitoring of performance standards and behavioural standards to build a high-performance team. Contribute to a learning environment spending time in the field engaging with crewWork in collaboration with rostering and scheduling teams to manage training, annual leave and attendance levelsManage performance and disciplinary matters if requiredTake accountability for incident investigations within the area of responsibility and conduct detailed investigation reportsAbout you:2+ years experience in a leadership role ideally in a logistics- but no railway or freight experience is requiredAble to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and influence employees to make sound safe choicesDemonstrated frontline leadership capability including task assignment, problem solving and performance managementAn ability to demonstrate your effectiveness at engaging team members, establishing and sustaining relationships & setting of clear directionYou will be highly organised and be able to prioritise conflicting tasks ensuring the best outcomes for the businessAbility to work on a 24/7 shift rosterWhat we offer you:At Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees.
