Role: Chef
We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team at Portovbello Restaurant, dedicated to delivering authentic Italian cuisine.
Responsibilities:
1. Craft contemporary style dishes in line with our menu;
2. Prepare high-quality contemporary style dishes for service;
3. Collaborate with Restaurant Managers to design and develop menus;
4. Source ingredients and kitchen supplies effectively;
5. Maintain open communication with kitchen staff, wait staff, and managers on food preparation methods;
6. Conduct cooking demonstrations and training sessions for employees;
7. PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION PROCESS OF NEW TEAM MEMBERS;
8. Implement effective food preservation practices;
9. E nsure adherence to occupational health and safety standards;
10. Manage staff rosters efficiently;
Qualifications and Experience:
A relevant Diploma qualification and at least 2 years of full-time post-qualification experience as a Chef; OR 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Availability to work evening shifts is required on the following days:
* Wednesday;
* Thursday;
* Friday;
* Saturday;
* Sunday.
This role requires relevant work experience and the ability to obtain working rights.
Expected hourly rate: $29 - $39 per hour.
