Department of Education VIC – Wyndham Vale VIC Manor Lakes P-12 College opened in 2009 and is located in Minindee Rd, Wyndham Vale. The college currently has an enrolment of 3000 students. The enrolment is expected to stabilise and possibly decline in the primary years (additional primary schools opening in the neighbouring area) and to continue to increase at secondary level. The backgrounds of our students reflect a cultural and socio-economic diversity. The college has a Student Family Occupation (SFO) of 0.552 which indicates that there is a level of disadvantage within our community. Selection Criteria Evidence of high standards and expertise in nursing and first aid, with a strong commitment to professional learning. Demonstrated exemplary written and oral communication skills, including the ability to utilise computer software products effectively. High level ability to work cooperatively and to a professional standard with all members of a school community - parents, students, staff. Demonstrated experience in supporting children and adults in a caring and compassionate manner, yet maintaining professionalism and discretion. Evidence of experience in effective records management, activity/injury recording, assessment and care planning. Demonstrated experience and ability to work in a team environment. Role Attendance is generally not required during school vacation periods. You may be recalled for up to 6 days as per the Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2017. You will be paid a leave purchase allowance of 72.47% for additional days worked. Hours of attendance are from 8.00am to 4.06pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. This position is Monday to Friday. Hours may change if students need change. This will be in agreement with the successful applicant. Range 3 is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Provides timely, high-quality and evidence-based primary health care to students and staff where appropriate within the parameters of DE. Communicates effectively with students, their families, the school community and with other health practitioners and service providers. Develops comprehensive student health plans and evaluates ongoing care to promote the health, wellbeing, and development of individual students. Recognises where it is appropriate to make referrals to health practitioners, and to other service providers to meet the individual healthcare needs of students. Develops and implements health education and promotion programs in response to identified health priorities in schools and in collaboration with the school community. Active member of School Nursing team contributing to policy and procedure development. Other duties as required by the Principal.
