About the role: We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at EastCoast Bullbars. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing automotive products to ensure they meet industry standards and project requirements.
You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, manage product development timelines, and provide support during the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities: Create CAD models and ensure manufacturability while adhering to AS1100 drafting standards.Conduct FEA simulations and performance tests to optimize designs for safety and compliance.Develop prototypes, evaluate performance, and refine designs as necessary.Plan and manage product development projects to meet deadlines and specifications.Work closely with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure smooth production processes.Contribute to process audits, factory upgrades, and improvements to internal systems and workflows.Collaborate with clients to achieve engineering outcomes.About You: Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering (mandatory), with a Heavy Vehicle Licence (desirable).
Good experience in automotive design and engineering, with experience in frontal protection systems preferred.
Sheet metal experience (mandatory)
Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and FEA, with strong knowledge of drafting techniques and mechanical design fundamentals.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, AS1100 standards, Australian Standards, relevant legislation, and ADRs.
High level of adaptability to meet shifting project demands in a dynamic work environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
Collaborative, approachable, and team-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
