Mater Private Hospital Townsville is currently seeking experienced Patient Admission Unit (PAU) and Stage Two Recovery (Day Surgery) Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative Services team. We can offer great flexibility within your employment, being open to either Permanent Part / Full Time and Casual – Choose the employment that suits you and your lifestyle! Your PAU shifts range from 6:15 AM – 6:00 PM and 2nd stage recovery from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM.
The Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and paediatrics with a variety of surgical specialties. MPHT boasts brand new state-of-the-art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.
Our Perioperative Registered Nurses use extensive experience to provide essential support to our patients and Clinical Nurses in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the department and assist with the progression of service improvement.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit, you will be responsible for:
Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during the perioperative journey Providing effective management of postoperative complications Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth About you You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic area.
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions) Experience working within a perioperative department desirable but not essential Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Commitment to ensuring the levels of service are always delivered to patients at all times Mater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
