Sydney Permanent Our client is a leading business in Sydney, seeking a Snr Financial Analyst – Infrastructure in their Sydney office. Scope of Work: Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, the CFO, and the rest of the Management Team. This role will involve a deep understanding of the Corporate Models and business drivers and translate them into model outcomes and key decision-making recommendations. The role will also drive all the financial modelling required to support Regulatory Determinations, debt raising and credit rating activity and business development opportunities for our client. Key Responsibilities: Working alongside the Group Financial Controller the role will include the following: Maintenance of the corporate, regulatory and bank models (the models). This will be a key responsibility as the models are crucial for understanding and delivering on the business’ objectives Work alongside the Head of Regulation and Head of Treasury to update the models for the latest regulatory and financial assumptions Assist the Head of Regulation with the preparation of the financial aspects of the RP4 submission Assist Head of Treasury with the refinance and other debt raising activities by considering various scenarios to the corporate and bank models Develop the model as a key forecasting tool. Optimising future cash needs and resources to maximise the returns to the shareholders Review the tax assumptions in the model and report on any expected tax liability changes Prepare with the Group Financial Controller, Head of Treasury and Head of Regulation key Board documents including budgets and forecasts Prepare an annual report to the Board on valuations. Review current financial performance and identify trends Prepare reports on the above information and communicate the insights of these reports to the wider business Qualifications and Background: Finance/ Accounting related degree Post graduate degree is desirable 4 years post graduate experience Required Key Skills: Must be proficient in financial modelling and financial model development Advanced XLS and financial modelling experience. Has accounting knowledge or experience Able to self appraise own output Comfortable communicating with senior management and Directors, financiers, external stakeholders such as regulators, external and internal auditors and advisors. Willing to accept responsibility and take ownership of tasks Able to interact with and influence at all levels including senior management and Directors; able to build constructive relationships with shareholder representatives, advisors and regulators Well organised, self starter who can manage a range of competing priorities and projects Highly skilled in verbal presentation and written business communication High level of problem solving skills
