For a very busy Indian restaurant at 493 Ipswich Road, Annerley, QLD 4103, GUJARAT FOODS PTY LTD TRADING AS SANKALP "THE TASTE OF INDIA" requires a Cook/Chef with a strong background in cooking North and South Indian cuisine for a busy multi-cuisine restaurant in Brisbane, QLD. Must have Australian qualification & 2-3 years experience in a multi-cuisine restaurant. Be fully conversant with the health and safety regulations in Australia, and be able to work odd hours.
Responsibilities:
Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality.
Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
Preparing, cooking, and seasoning food.
During cooking, portioning food, placing on plates, adding gravies, and garnishing the dishes.
Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities.
Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
May require estimating and preparing food for catering orders.
Must be able to work as a team in a high-pressure environment.
Expected to follow all preset recipes and train junior kitchen staff in basic handling of duties.
