The role supports the National Health and Injury Manager to drive sustainable health and safety culture and performance across Estia Health. It ensures that employees are proactively supported in their injury recovery and claims are managed in accordance with legislative requirements.The Injury Management Specialist’s key responsibilities include:Apply specialist knowledge and expertise to:Provide early intervention support and management to injured employees, through completion of care calls, referrals to early intervention programs and preparation of recover at work plans.Undertake role of RTW Co-Ordinator and manage a portfolio of injury cases including consultation and collaboration with injured workers, treating practitioners and leaders to support injury recovery and recover at work planning. Including travel to worksites and case conferences to attend in person.Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees regarding the management of injuries in the workplace.Manage submission of workers compensation claims, including:preparation of necessary documentation including but not limited to incident investigation, witness statements, role statementscalculation of PIAWE/AWEManage workers compensation weekly payment process in scheme states in accordance with legislation and enterprise agreements and provide oversight and support to third party administrator in self-insurance. Including reconciliation and audit of weekly and claims payment.Maintain injury and claims data including financial, medical certificates and claims documentation from insurer.Support the management of legal claims and disputes.Undertake completion of monthly claims and injury reporting.Provide injury management coaching and training to employees and managers.Support continuous improvement in HSW, including:Support and provide expert guidance to senior leaders and managers on management of workplace injuries and workers compensation claims in accordance with legislative requirements.Participate in internal and external claims reviews to support development of strategic and commercially sound plans.Proactive management of Workers Compensation claims to facilitate sustainable recovery and return to work.Collaborate with Health and Safety Business Partner to develop and implement evidence-based injury prevention programs.Foster and maintain relationships:Manage and establish positive relationships with key internal stakeholders, Estia Health’s Workers Compensation Agent’s, self-insurance third party administrators, rehabilitation consultants and other relevant key stakeholders to ensure effective management of workplace injuries.Support the broader HSW team by:Assisting in developing and managing the Company WHS System and processes.Providing regular updates on HSW performance across area of responsibility.Actively develop themselves and support their team members in the People and Culture team by:Participating in internal People and Culture activities.Taking responsibility for their own professional development.Role model the Estia Principles and Values.The traits that will help you succeed are:QualificationsRelevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or Allied Health (or related) or equivalent prior experience.Minimum 4 years experience in a WHS and Injury Management/Rehabilitation role with a proven track record in delivering effective workplace injury performance results.
