Managing Consultant - Statutory Planner Location: Melbourne Statutory Planner As part of the continued growth of our services in the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors, ERM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Statutory Planner to join our team in Melbourne. This role is suited to someone looking to extend their project leadership capabilities on major, complex projects. We are looking for someone with a keen interest in supporting decarbonisation efforts and helping drive forward the development of large-scale renewable energy and major infrastructure projects. You will have access to ERM's Global Impact Assessment Technical Community, sharing multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional looking to advance their career with a global environmental leader on both local and international projects. Responsibilities include: Lead the preparation of statutory permitting, licensing and consent applications on complex projects, including writing planning reports and technical summary reports, coordinating technical assessments and engaging with regulatory stakeholders. Deliver service excellence, applying permitting and approvals subject matter expertise to develop client and project solutions. Drive approvals programs using skills in stakeholder engagement and regulator negotiations, technical coordination, and project management. Continue developing technical competency as well as skills in consulting, business development and leadership. Contribute to business development activities, including proposal development and client engagement. Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM teams locally and globally on projects and within ERM's Technical Communities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or related discipline Minimum 4 years' experience in statutory planning and permitting - consulting industry experience highly desirable. Competency with Commonwealth and Victorian planning and environmental legislation and their application to facilitate the delivery of infrastructure projects. Broader experience in the legislation of other jurisdictions viewed favourably. Excellent writing, communication, presentation, strategic thinking, and people skills. Strong skills in project management, technical coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Experience and successes in working as part of an integrated team. Ability to build sustaining relationships with clients. Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills and ideas.
